About me

It all began with a childhood home full of animals; snakes, dogs, rabbits, birds, tropical fish, geckos, and even a cat. As I got older I was still animal mad and, I went onto college to study Animal Management. After this, I was certain career with animals was where I needed to be.

I found a job as a trainee dog groomer, with the plans to go to university to study more. But… I completely fell in love with grooming. And here I am, owning my own business only a couple of years down the line. I am a Certified Advanced Professional Groomer with IPG, an international association that educates, certifies and accredits pet groomers.

I created Sassy Paws by Sophie in October 2024. The dream was to always have something that I could call my own, never did I think it would happen so quickly. I started completely from scratch, building up my clientele, my brand, and spreading love and positivity while doing so!

I am also a fully certified and trained Reiki Practitioner both for humans and animals, especially in the dog grooming setting. This has not only massively helped me along this journey, but also all the lovely animals I encounter and pamper.

I strive to continue my learning and development even now. I attend in person seminars and online webinars from worldwide professional groomers. There is always something new to learn, or a new point of view to adapt into my daily work.

I also regularly attend and compete in dog grooming competitions in the UK with two first place awards under my belt, and fingers crossed more to come! I really enjoy seeing like-minded passionate people do what they love, it’s what inspires me to better myself and my work.
